This Oxford Oval white gold signet ring is a modern twist on a quintessentially British design, it makes for a modern, elegant and high quality Rebus ring. Our award winning hand engravings are set off beautifully by the lustre of the metal, denoting heritage and tradition to last for decades to come.
14ct gold (585 parts of gold per thousand) is a popular choice of gold for a signet ring, as over half of it is pure gold and it is still very durable. The heavy weight Rebus signet rings in 9ct, 14ct or 18ct gold will last a lifetime. White gold is simply yellow gold mixed with different alloys to give it its colour. Usually created by adding palladium and silver, the colour is not white like platinum but more of a light grey steel colour. It is usually a little more expensive than yellow or rose gold, as the alloys added to create the white colour are precious metals.
For a man's little finger, a 14mm x 12mm face size will work perfectly for the majority of men, and the extra-large 18mm x 14mm face size is eye catching on any finger. The 16mm x 13mm is designed for the little finger on larger hands and the 13mm x 11mm for ladies or a slender gentleman's hand. Our 11mm x 9mm face size is specially designed for smaller hands.

Deep seal engraving
Traditional deep seal engraving is the most popular method of engraving signet rings. We create your design by carving deeply into the metal, hand engraving the design in reverse.
Once the seal engraving is completed, we use the engraved signet ring to produce a 3d wax impression - the seal. Your ring will arrive presented in a beautiful gift box, with an encapsulated impression of your design and a wax taper to make your own seals. If you would prefer for us to engrave your design as it is seen on paper, i.e. not in reverse, please let us know by using the comment box found in your shopping bag. read less
Surface cut engraving
As with seal engraving, surface engraving is produced by hand, using handheld gravers. In fact, it's the same technique used by traditional bank note engravers.
Unlike seal engraving, we don't carve deep into the metal - instead, we create the design by cutting hundreds of lines of varying widths and depths until the design comes to life. This method is ideal for cufflinks and it also looks effective on signet rings, but does not have the same longevity as seal engraving. read less
