Step 1:

Choose your ring's shape and metal

We have a range of shapes, sizes and weights to choose from. Once you have selected the shape and weight from the ‘shop’ you can select the face size from the product page.

After choosing the shape, the next decision to make is which precious metal you would like. We hand craft our signet rings from sterling silver and 9ct, 14ct and 18ct gold in yellow, white or rose gold. We also offer fantastic quality heavy weight platinum signet rings. You'll find more information on precious metals in our FAQs section.

If you are uncertain about which shape and face size signet ring is best for you please download the printable ring face size guide

Alternatively, for £20.00 you can purchase a bronze sample replica from the Oxford Oval and Cushion shaped range of signet rings. These are fully refundable if you decide to purchase a precious metal signet ring at a later date. You will find the bronze signet rings in the ‘shop by metal’ drop down menu.

Looking for a different shape or style? Please get in touch with us. It might take little longer than usual to create, but we're happy to work to your specifications.

Step 2:

Choose or supply your artwork

Next, choose or supply the design you'd like us to engrave on your signet ring. If you're looking for inspiration, take a look at our gallery or our database of family crests and monograms. There is also a free crestfinder app you can download from the itunes app store or Google Play, links can be found at the bottom of the page.

Of course, you don't have to choose a traditional heraldic crest - many of our customers create their own designs and symbols. If you have artwork or a rough sketch of what you would like engrave, please email us the design and we can organise a quote for you. The artwork doesn't have to be perfect - we can work from old drawings, photos, letter headed paper, wax impressions from previous engraved rings or even just a description.

It is traditional to engrave the seal design in reverse, so that the wax impression made with the ring will show the design as it should be seen. However, you can request that we do not engrave the design in reverse. This is done in the comment box in your shopping bag. If you have selected a crest or monogram design from our database the engraving prices are as follows.

Bespoke signet rings:
Deep seal engraving, £300.00 per ring
Surface engraving, £100.00 per ring

Cufflinks with two plates surfaced engraved:
Crests, £200.00 per pair
Monograms, £200.00 per pair

Step 3:

Measuring your finger size

If you do not know your finger size we can post you a free finger sizing gauge, which comes in our welcome pack. Or if you prefer, you can download our printable ring size guide Download ring sizer here

Your finger size can change depending on your temperature, do not measure your finger when your hands are cold; your fingers will be at least half a size smaller. We recommend you measure your finger towards the end of the day and when your hands are warm. If the finished signet ring needs a slight size adjustment, within three sizes up or down, we will do this free of charge, if returned to us within 28 days of purchase. Please contact us before returning your jewellery for advice.

If you’re ordering from outside the UK, please use our international ring size conversion chart to find your standard British ring size. This can be found on the find your finger size page.
